Aspirant

What is an Aspirant?

Our definition of aspirants are:A Young Aspirant...

"people who aspire, remain engaged in discovery and experiences which expand themselves, while committed to intentions, actions, and movements which forward living"

The Aspirant Creed supports our definition and provides a personal, private and intimate expression which you may wish to use in your daily affirmations, intentions, and prayers.

What is a Creed?

A creed is a statement or confession of belief, usually a religious belief or faith. The word derives from the Latin credo for “I believe”. Creeds have been part of antiquity with common references to churches as noted in the example of the Apostles’ Creed (F1).

Historical Perspective

Creeds have a unique intention because it sets forth guidelines for the believers. It is grounded in faith. It is appropriate to include a definition of faith (F2) The Center of Faith for Christiansat this point to provide background and understanding for our intention of the Aspirant Creed.

All the meanings of faith have applicability to our intention for establishing a credo, regardless of whether one believes in God, or religious doctrine. From our perspective it does matter about God.

However, our interest for each individual is the equally important definitions which we believe have absolute applicability here and include:

  • having one become sincere

  • fidelity to one’s promise

  • a firm belief in something for which there is no proof

  • complete trust; and finally

  • something that is believed especially with strong conviction.

Please ponder the significance of each definition.

By Design

The Aspirant's Creed contains three powerfully designed paragraphs which are intended to open a person to possibility at many different levels - both internal and external: a personal identity level, a feeling and sensing level, and finally at a self-realization level.

We have provided the first few lines for you to ponder right now.

Aspirant’s Creed

The power loves and protects me,

The power surrounds me with grace"....
