CAM Definitions

This page includes specific definitions to distinguish language uniqueness used by Choice Awareness.

We chose our language carefully with the purpose of imparting clear understanding: using only the English language, where words usually have multiple meanings.

To eliminate confusion, CAM will identity the exact meaning intended.

We will support the usages with appropriate footnotes, photos, illustrations, etc. to expand your awareness.

Aspirant

This term has been used in different contexts. We see it used generally in politics with someone aspiring to a particular position of authority.

It was first introduced to us by our Marketing Consultant, Kelly Conway of Strike Marketing when he began doing research into the coaching industry for us, some years ago.

Kelly offered the term, identified an author where he heard it (i.e. we don't recall whom now - hopefully they will identify themselves so we can give them credit like Kelly). We liked the term immediately and realized that it could accurately identify our audience for our products and services.

Consequently, we decided to put our own unique meaning to the word aspirant as follows:

"People who aspire, remain engaged in discovery and experiences which expand themselves, while committed to beliefs, choices, and actions, which forward living"

CAM Definition 2006

During our own discovery process, we also liked the concept of the creed, since we perceived its creation as a way to keep us motivated and inspired. During our writing of our aspirant definition, the aspirants creed came to us: we decided to create a short book about our personal insights and the related development expedition.

Consistent Achiever(s)

An individual or teams of people that create future plan(s) with specific outcomes, operates from a set of foundational beliefs designed to support the outcomes, makes appropriate choices of activities toward the outcomes, then consistently engages in actions to make the future happen. The individual(s) usually includes processes which involve discovery, discernment, practice and measuring to produce effective activities.

Direct-Coaching

This activity involves having a live conversation with Bob which could be completed via the Internet with VOIP, cellular or land-line telephone, or in a face-to-face meeting, usually in a prescheduled date and time. Direct coaching is a desirable activity designed to support the clients' development, have possibility come present, while leaving the client complete and whole, and in the next right action for them.

Our belief system holds that direct-coaching is an effective way to get things started and tuned-up occasionally, but not as a long-term solution because the individual can and will become dependent upon the coaching person. We see this occurring in all kinds of professional practices, especially in the healing arts and psychology fields (i.e. check-out two cautions to gain a greater understanding of what we mean).

Two other significant points of helpful insight: 1) be very specific when you deal with any coach by making clear definitions of what to expect and what will be delivered - shorten the time-frame to not more than 90 day periods and read our coaching standard page for basics; 2) after using coaching to get you started and/or tuned-up, you should be able to create your own support team to help you solve any problem, personal or business, if you have selected the right people. See accountability as a sound starting point.

Self-Coaching

This activity involves having accessibility to CAM coaching materials (i.e. videos, forms, PDF's, visual displays, etc. ) via the internet or other mobile connections based upon when you want to engage yourself for learning, practicing and doing things that forward your life.

You work at your own pace, when you want. If you need our help, simply ask us questions along the way for specific support.

Our belief systems holds that any form of education, training, seminars, and workshops designed specifically to deliver self-sufficiency are healthy pursuits for you. We suggest that you inspect and understand your underlying beliefs, current choices and actions practices to make maximum use of what you've been exposed to and apply the learning consistently in your life. Otherwise, you are missing your investment possibility and opportunity in yourself.

Outsider and Insiders

Outsiders are people engaged to help with the business: typically to bring specialized expertise that doesn't exist inside. Insiders are those people currently working and participating in and with the business.

We believe that outsiders can offer the following:

  1. Ideas, concepts and practices to improve effectiveness in your business, know how to engage people
  2. Experiences, abilities, and capacity when shared, will affect the business processes and people
  3. not attached to anyone inside your business or your current circle and does not play in your sphere of influence
  4. unconnected and unattached with activities occurring inside and/or outside your business
  5. more....

There are probably more items to define outsiders - we know that you will think of many more.

Outsiders have some helpful advantages to people on the inside - they can see things that others cannot. The outsider also brings new and fresh perspectives as possibility to the organization. The outsider should be teamed with the insiders and work collectively with a specific purpose and goal in mind. The starting point of such activities usually only work well, when combined with a process that engages everyone.

We suggest only engaging outsiders who know how to integrate with the beliefs, choices and actions system currently in-place. Those efforts need to be combined with an effective process (e.g. just mentioned) which would engage everyone needed to participate in the change. We suggest attempting no change in isolation (e.g. dictating and commanding how something will be is absolutely the worst approach and will produce widespread revolt/resentment).  The in-place belief systems, which encompass the current beliefs, choices and actions occurring will need to be inspected, unwrapped and made clear before any real change can be implemented in the business/group/team.

We believe the insiders offer the following:

  1. detailed understanding of how things actually work for both the formal and informal systems
  2. attachment to how things are working and the associated connections/relationships being used
  3. experiences, abilities, ideas and a knowing of how things could work better
  4. attached and unattached to the occurrences happening within and to your business
  5. Reluctance and willingness to implement change - current belief systems may/may not support such efforts
  6. more....

There are more items to define insiders - we know that you will think of many more.

Your inside team knows more than the outsiders regarding current challenges and issues because of their experiences as insiders. Unfortunately, this insider source is little tapped and used effectively.

Some of the company's owners/management beliefs systems hold the outsider has the greater experience, abilities, process, etc. This may or may not be true. If the belief system holds that is it true, the insiders could be neglected, discounted, left-out and isolated. This inside experience can be successfully tapped, brought forward and integrated effectively. What was once an ineffective team, can be turned into high participation and contribution: that possibility exists if the belief systems says it is true.

In summary, combine a process that effectively combines outsiders and insiders, adapt the beliefs system, and move forward. If you actually defined more items for outsiders and insiders, the items you defined are part of your beliefs system. What does that say about your beliefs system and how telling is this for you? They hold your secrets to your success.

Life Time Members

We want our products and services to produce effectiveness for you. We want you to become life time members (i.e. see Members definition) when our products and services produce for you a CAM Awareness Scale rating of at least an 8 consistently. If we have effectively shared with you what we have learned, such that you experience systemic awareness, your experiences will likely fall around and close to this scale point; that's what we have designed to produce. While we do not want you to have dependence upon us (i.e. see Two Cautions), we want you continue to build your own relationships which will sustain supporting your personal, professional and business growth. If you need us, our goal is to be part of your support system. Being a life time member provides us feedback that we are accomplishing this objective.
